Journalism students at the University of Brighton could be getting a new student newsroom.

The Hastings campus already has one newsroom, but the university plans to create a new journalism course as well as move some of the sports journalism students from the Eastbourne Campus.

Paul Frost, Hastings Campus Director, said: "We'll try and set up something, it won't be on the same scale, but it will be a little bit like the BBC when you see into the newsroom."

Having a second newsroom would mean the university can take on more journalism students.

The Multimedia Broadcast Journalism course currently has 58 students in total.

This figure could triple with the potential of a new journalism course and the integration of the sports journalism students.
