The Hastings storytelling festival is returning to our seaside town next week it's for its fifth year running. A number of local businesses and venues will be hosting the festival, with a varied amount of tickets available for each event depending on the venue size.
The festival will be running from 9th November through to the 15th with patron Sir Quentin Blake, who is best known for his captivating illustrations in Roald Dahl children's books, being accompanied by his special celebrity guests: well-known author Michael Morpurgo and TV personality David Walliams, who will both be performing at the events.
A notable performance that is widely being look forward to is that of author and tv star Will Self who will be taking to the stage at St Mary in The Castle at 7:30 PM on Saturday, 14th November.
Many performances of this year’s guest stars have already sold out such as that of David Walliams. Walliams, along with Sir Quentin Blake, will be participating in a Q and A session at the White Rock Theatre where they will read extracts from their stories, including well loved tales such as The Boy In The Dress, Mr Stink, and Grandpa’s Great Escape. There will also be an opportunity for fans to purchase and have books signed on Saturday, 14th November at 2 PM.
Michael Morpurgo’s showing is highly likely to be a sell-out. He will be discussing his works at 4 PM on Friday the 30th November at Sussex Coast College Hastings. These are just some snippets of the wide range of performances that will be taking place at the festival.
