Driving on ice can be a tough task for even the most experienced driver and according to a national study, the people of the South East struggle the most.

With more than 2,000 accidents across the UK taking place due to the unpredictable winter weather drivers in the South East were revealed to be involved in 237 car crashes last year alone. 

The survey conducted by warns the public to take extra precautions when de-icing their vehicles to ensure they have the most visibility and to avoid using alternatives when removes ice and snow such as bank or loyalty cards.

Furthermore, it is believed one in ten people would avoid leaving the house in extreme conditions as they do not feel competent in icy terrains. While many argue it’s down to lack of experience, some residents believe the council isn’t doing enough to clear roads for the public.
