Two years ago, a 14-year-old boy took an indecent image of himself in the privacy of his own bedroom. He then proceeded to sext that image to a teenage girl who attended his school.
The child has now been put on a sex offender’s database which may have a negative affect for him in later life.
His mother argues that we are criminalising our children and laws need to catch up with technology.
The case that is being heard this afternoon at Greater Manchester High Court, raises questions surrounding the responsibility put on young children when using smart phones.
