The #StreetsAhead campaign was launched on 25th August 2017 and aims to raise awareness of waste pollution, by emphasising the danger it poses to the environment.

Funded by litter fines, the campaign includes monthly volunteer-led Pier2Pier beach cleans and informative posters being put-up on bins around the city.

However, despite efforts to reduce waste pollution in the streets, some believe not enough is being done to collect the refuse waste.

The Council has since issued an apology and said that CityClean would ensure the bins were emptied that day.
