Family and dog-friendly community campaign group 'If You Love Hastings Pier, Join The Queue!' will be walking along the seafront promenade tomorrow morning at 10:30.
The demonstration will be in protest against pier's owner Sheikh Abid Gulzar’s decision to close the pier until March for ‘essential repairs’ following the fire a few months ago.
Drew Mitchell, leader of the group, says the purpose of the demonstration is to "thank all the former pier employees of 2018 and to show solidarity to the future employees."
Organisers are also encouraging participants to wear costumes and to carry banners.
"Abusive behaviour or any vandalism will not be tolerated" says Drew Mitchell. "This is a peaceful demonstration of our love for Hastings Pier as an asset of community value. We wish for this event to be positive and celebratory."
A costume competition will also be taking place with a prize awarded for the best-dressed pier dog. Good luck to all our furry friends out there. May the best pup win!
