Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan donates £15,000 to Australian bushfire after 56 saves were made this weekend. The Australian goalkeeper pledged to donate 500 Australian dollars for every registered save by all premier league goalkeepers across every premier league fixture for this weekend. All the money will be going to wires wildlife rescue. This comes after Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne and Serena Williams all have donated money to help fight the fire.

Brighton and Hove Albion women’s team faced against Arsenal Women’s yesterday. Sadly, the match wasn’t in the home teams’ favour as Arsenal won four nil. They also won four nil back in September when both sides first met. This victory for Arsenal lifts them three points ahead of Man city and four points ahead of Chelsea.

In the rugby league Hull Kingston Rovers’ Mose Masoe is in Hospital after suffering a serious spinal injury in yesterday’s pre-season friendly against Wakefield Trinity. The teams official twitter page posted that the player ‘was operated on overnight at Leeds General Hospital’.

And in the rugby union former wales and lions back James hook is set to retire at end of season. The 34-year-old played 81 times for wales and toured with the 2009 British and Irish Lions in South Africa. Hook says he wants to prioritise "being able to go out in the garden and play" with his three young children over extending his rugby career and risking injury. Hook will see out the remainder of the season with the Ospreys before hanging up his boots for good in the summer to focus on a series of rugby-themed children's books, as well as a career in coaching.
