The NHS staff in England are working on the 'edge of safety', according to NHS provider Saffron Cordery. 

Health bosses claim the rising demand for staff is outstripping the increasing numbers being employed. 

There has been a 6% increase of staff since 2014, however in this time the demand for services has trebled.

The Department of Health says staffing is the number one priority; Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has now announced rises in the number of training places for both doctors and nurses.
