Joanna Lumley has been announced as the new host of the BAFTAS, replacing Stephen Fry, who has presented the show for the last 12 years. Lumley is also the first female host since Mariella Frostrup co-presented alongside Fry in 2001.

The BAFTA nominations have been released and following huge success at the Golden Globes, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri have received nine nominations, including Best Film. However, The Shape of Water are their main competitors for Best Film and received the most nominations.

Christopher Plummer, who replaced Kevin Spacey in the film All the Money in the World has been nominated for best supporting actor. However, the film, which was originally expected to top the box office, has missed out on other nominations. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, also failed to get any top nods, only receiving 2 nominations for Best Sound and Best Special Visual Effects.

Blade Runner and Dunkirk also received a high number of nominations. The awards show will be aired Sunday, 13th May and after the Golden Globes, viewers will be keen to discover if the Times Up movement continues to dominate the awards season.
