NEWS: Brighton gone Bonkers for Beer
Published on by Phoebe Doolan (author)

From Friday Brighton was flooded with craft beer lovers as breweries from all around the world took over the taps of 15 well-loved pubs to create what was called 'The Tap Takeover'. Breweries from all around the world, some as far as New Zealand, took part in the event organised by DrinkinBrighton and exported their craft beer for us to sample and enjoy across a joyful beer filled weekend.
DrinkinBrighton is a company that owns many pubs and bars scattered across Brighton and only their pubs were involved in the event. Other authentic craft beer pubs and breweries such as Brewdog, a brewery and eatery based at Old Steine, complained they'd been left out and lost sales. Nonetheless, the event proved to be very popular amongst locals who made the most of the two day festival.

Venues involved included The White Rabbit, North Laine Brewery and more. Wristbands were sold before the event offering a discount and a couple of freebies, but those who missed out could still enjoy an affordable drink in each of the breweries. Organisers say it was the best weekend yet for craft beer. Cheers!
